2024 Heartland Marriage Retreat

November 1 - 3, 2024
Branson, MO

About the Retreat

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. - Matthew 7:24

"They don't make them like they used to anymore."

We live in an increasingly disposable culture. The importance of quality has been replaced by speed and convenience. If something doesn't suit our needs, we throw it out, replacing it with something new. This mindset has also bled into how our society views marriages. A first marriage is referred to by many as a "starter marriage". Couples value independence over unity, choosing to live more as roommates than husband and wife.

God's plan for marriage goes against this mindset. While not always easy, His plan is a better one. Join us this weekend to learn why the effort is worth it, and how you can build a marriage that is "Made to Last".

Whether you are newlyweds or have been married for decades, we invite you to join us for this relaxing weekend.

Your registration fee includes:

  • All sessions on Saturday and worship on Sunday

  • Lunch on Saturday afternoon

Meet Our Speakers - Ron and Cheryl Hammer

Ron and Cheryl Hammer, married for 34 years, bring a wealth of experience and joy to the Heartland family of churches. Both have dedicated 34 years to ministry, with Cheryl baptized in 1983 and Ron in 1988. They are proud parents to two sons, Michael (married to Lindsay with three children: Hunter, Paige, and Abigail) and Luke (married to Lindsey). Ron, originally from southern Iowa, is thrilled to return to the Midwest lifestyle and enjoys golf, tennis, the outdoors, and meat. Cheryl, a Nova Scotia native who was on Team USA for the World Duathlon Championships in 2019, loves photography, hiking, biking, and reading. The Hammers cherish time with family and friends. Fun facts: Ron has an identical twin, Mike, and completed his graduate work in Chemistry under a Nobel Prize winner; Cheryl grew up on a dairy farm.
